Group of CSCS-carded workers in hard hats on a construction site
01 — Temporary staffing

Trades on site by Monday.

SIC 78200 — Temporary employment agency activities

Short a gang and the programme stops. We supply CSCS-carded labourers, groundworkers, carpenters, bricklayers and electricians by the day, the week or the whole job.

02 — Permanent placement

We find the ones who stay.

SIC 78109 — Employment placement agencies

Site managers, contracts managers, quantity surveyors, estimators and foremen. Interviewed by people who have done the job, placed onto your payroll, with a rebate period agreed in writing.

03 — Managed teams

One crew. One number.

Supervised gangs — one invoice, absence covered

A whole gang with a working supervisor on it. You brief one person, we cover the no-shows, and your programme stops depending on nine separate phone calls every morning.

We build and wire it too.

SIC 41202 & 43210 — Construction & electrical installation

We are not only an agency. We take on domestic building and electrical work in our own right — extensions, conversions, refurbishments, rewires and EICRs. It is why our trades are worth supplying: we work alongside them.

Never a fee to you — that is the law, and we keep it

Send your trade, your cards and how far you can travel. We call you when something near you starts. Paid on time, every time, and we never charge a worker a penny.

01 — What we actually do

A recruiter that has actually held the trowel.

BIGBEST CONSTRUCTION LTD is a construction recruitment and staffing business. Contractors tell us what they are short of — we find, vet and supply the trades who fill the gap.

We are registered for both sides of that work at Companies House: SIC 78200, temporary employment agency activities, and SIC 78109, employment placement agencies. Temporary gangs stay on our books; permanent hires go onto yours.

What separates us from a desk full of phones: we also hold SIC 41202 and SIC 43210 and run our own building and electrical jobs. We know what a good bricklayer looks like because we work next to one.

04 — Compliance

The file behind the worker.

Anyone can send a body to a gate. The difference between an agency you keep and one you drop is whether the paperwork survives an audit.

Compliance documents and site paperwork on a desk

Under the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 we cannot charge a work-seeker a fee for finding them work — and we do not. Not to register, not to be put forward, not to start. Our fees are paid by the hiring contractor. If anyone claiming to represent us asks a worker for money, do not pay, and tell us.

Verified before the first shift, either against original documents in person or through the Home Office online right to work service where the worker holds a share code. Copies are dated, signed and retained for the statutory period, which gives you a statutory excuse against a civil penalty.

Every operative holds the CSCS card appropriate to their trade and level. Plant tickets, FLT and driving licence categories, SSSTS and SMSTS, ECS cards for electrical operatives, asbestos awareness and first aid where the role requires them. All sighted, recorded with expiry dates, and re-checked before they lapse.

Day-one rights to facilities and vacancy information from the first shift, and equal treatment on basic pay and conditions after 12 calendar weeks in the same role. We count the weeks and flag parity before it falls due, not after.

Temporary operatives are paid through PAYE with holiday accrual and pension auto-enrolment, or under CIS where the engagement properly falls there. Employers' liability and public liability cover is in place; certificates are available on request before supply begins.

Operatives arrive briefed on where they are going and who they report to. You remain responsible for site induction and a safe place of work under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015; we make sure nobody turns up without the training or PPE the role demands.

Where we carry out electrical installation ourselves under SIC 43210, the work is designed, installed, inspected and tested to BS 7671, the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, and notifiable domestic work is handled under Part P of the Building Regulations. You receive the certificate with the test results on it.

Worker, applicant and client data is handled under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with defined retention periods and a documented lawful basis for each processing activity. See our Privacy Policy.

05 — Process

Call today. Gang on site tomorrow.

Four stages, a named contact on your account, and a written record of every check we run.

01

The brief

Trades, numbers, start date, shift pattern, site postcode and the gate procedure. Ten minutes on the phone, or we come to the site. Rates agreed in writing before anyone is booked.

02

Source & vet

Our own pool first, then advertise and headhunt. Trade interview by somebody who has done that job, right to work verified, cards and tickets sighted and recorded, references taken where the role needs them.

03

On site

Everyone knows where they are going, who they report to and what to bring. We confirm attendance on the morning of the first shift rather than waiting for you to ring us at half seven.

04

Aftercare

Site feedback comes back to us and decides whether an operative goes out again. Anybody who is not right is replaced, and permanent placements carry a written rebate period.

Ready when you are

Tell us what you are short of.

Trades, numbers, start date and site postcode. We come back the same working day with rates and availability. No obligation, no retainer to talk.
